HPE and Mesosphere move one step forward to help customers deploy next generation hybrid IT data centers
For more than five years, DC/OS has enabled some of the largest, most sophisticated enterprises in the world to achieve unparalleled levels of efficiency, reliability, and scalability from their IT infrastructure. But now it is time to pass the torch to a new generation of technology: the D2iQ Kubernetes Platform (DKP). Why? Kubernetes has now achieved a level of capability that only DC/OS could formerly provide and is now evolving and improving far faster (as is true of its supporting ecosystem). That’s why we have chosen to sunset DC/OS, with an end-of-life date of October 31, 2021. With DKP, our customers get the same benefits provided by DC/OS and more, as well as access to the most impressive pace of innovation the technology world has ever seen. This was not an easy decision to make, but we are dedicated to enabling our customers to accelerate their digital transformations, so they can increase the velocity and responsiveness of their organizations to an ever-more challenging future. And the best way to do that right now is with DKP.
Mesosphere DC/OS is the only production-proven platform that lets you quickly install and operate containers and data services across both on-premise and public cloud infrastructure. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is the leading global provider of datacenter infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, converged systems, and related software and services. We are proud to announce a new agreement that brings these exciting capabilities together.
As of today, HPE is now offering a turnkey deployment of Mesosphere DC/OS on their industry-leading hardware; purchase the complete solution from HPE, get help with deployment from HPE professional services, and get support from a single point of contact with HPE. Together, Mesosphere and HPE are making it easier than ever to tap the rich capabilities and elastic scale of cloud services with the cost savings, security, and control of leveraging on-premise infrastructure.
In March 2016, Hewlett Packard Pathfinder led Mesosphere's $73.5 million Series C funding round. We view this as just the beginning of a stellar journey with HPE. We will work with HPE to bring powerful, innovative solutions for application development and deployment to the market place.
Mesosphere DC/OS is a production-proven solution for customers looking to deploy big data and container operations through a single, simple, controlled platform. Currently, Mesosphere and HPE are helping several joint customers through the transformation to hybrid infrastructure, giving these companies control of their workloads and the ability to move seamlessly from datacenter to the public cloud; further providing customers with the flexibility to power their data centers with Amazon-like services in an environment of their choice. Users are already seeing an increase in productivity and developer agility; accelerating the time to market for new services while achieving significant scale and reliability. Larry Rau, Director Architecture & Infrastructure at Verizon Labs shares why Verizon chose Mesosphere DC/OS to power their media services and other consumer IoT initiatives.
We are working closely with HPE as they support customers on their quest toward a brave new world – where containers, microservices, and big data services are the everyday norm. For more information on running Mesosphere DC/OS on HPE servers, read the technical white paper and reference architecture that we published earlier this year or learn more about HPE solutions for Mesosphere.
